Origin: Kashinath Deodhar hails from Pandharpur.
Early Education: He completed his schooling in Beed and pursued a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Kolhapur.
Higher Education:Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering: Completed part-time from Cusrow Wadia Institute of Technology, Pune, by attending evening classes.
Master of Engineering (ME) in Mechanical Engineering: Specialized in Advanced Weapon Technology, graduating with first class and distinction.
Doctoral Research: Currently carrying out research in the field of Weapons at a Defence University.
Professional Experience:
Joined DRDO in 1982: Kashinath Deodhar began his career at the Armament Research & Development establishment in 1982.
Leadership in Research and Development:He is currently heading the Emergency Escape System for the pilot division.
His extensive research has contributed to various weapon systems, including Air Defence Guns, Tank Guns, Artillery Gun Systems, Rocket Launchers, and the PINAKA System.
Specialization:Design and Development of ordnance.
Servo Control Systems.
Composite Material Technology.
Achievements and Honors:
National Commendations:Awarded commendations in 1999 and 2005 at the national level.
Lab Scientist of the Year: Recipient of the prestigious Lab Scientist of the Year Award in 2006.
Field Experience:
Kashinath Deodhar has spent significant time with soldiers and troops in sensitive areas along the Line of Control (LOC), experiencing diverse terrains. His fieldwork includes enduring extreme conditions, such as the scorching 48-degree centigrade heat of the Pokharan deserts and the harsh sub-zero temperatures of -40 degrees centigrade in the Leh region of the Himalayan ranges.

Vice President, Paschim Maharashtra Prant, Vijnana Bharati:Beyond his professional duties, he is actively involved in fostering a scientific mindset in society. He serves as the Honorary Vice President of the Paschim Maharashtra Prant unit of Vijnana Bharati, an all-India organization known as the Swadeshi Science Movement of Bharat.
